Employee Spotlight: Uzma Karwa

While you’re celebrating the start of summer, join us in congratulating our July spotlight on Uzma Karwa, CAD Designer here at Tangent!

Uzma is part of our A&E team as a CAD Designer, working on any and everything the department needs. This can range from creating or modifying permit drawings, traffic control plans, or drawing templates; to managing redlines; to quality control for drawing packages.

When Uzma graduated from CSULB with her bachelor of science in civil engineering, she never dreamed she’d be getting into the wireless space, but she’s loving the capricious nature of this industry. One of her favorite aspects about it is getting to do something new every day and that no two days are the same. As a CAD Designer, Uzma is often involved in individual steps of projects, working on whatever is needed at the time, but recently she had the rewarding experience of completing a range of sites for a small cell project in Hawaii from start to finish. She’s currently working towards her EIT (engineer in training) exam on her way to becoming a certified civil engineer. We are all cheering her on!

Matt Rooklidge, Senior A&E Manager said, “Uzma has incredible attention to detail both when drafting and reviewing sites. She also has a wealth of TCP experience and has been instrumental in training other designers in the production of traffic control plans.”

Outside of her engineering work, Uzma is a kind spirit who enjoys spending time with friends and family, and has a huge passion for reading. You can catch her reading any number of genres, as she has no particular favorite and equally enjoys an informative detailing of historical non-fiction as much as diving into a fantastical world of fiction.

She’s a pleasure to work with and a loved member of our Tan-Fam. Keep up the amazing work, Uzma!
